Vie Science Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

Last Updated: June 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Vie Science, Inc. (“Vie Science,” “we,” “us,” orour”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you visit our website at https://vie.science, access the Vie Science software platform (including Vie Insight, Vie Optimize, Vie Precision, and the AI-powered Ask Dr. C assistant when it becomes available), participate in the Founding Members Program, or otherwise interact with our products and services (collectively, the “Services”).

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Service. If you are a Washington, Nevada, Connecticut, or other state resident with separate consumer health data rights, please also review our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, which is provided as a separate notice as required by applicable law.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING HEALTH INFORMATION: Vie Science is a consumer wellness and behavioral activation software platform. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse, and the Services do not constitute the practice of medicine or the provision of medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. In most cases, the information we collect is not Protected Health Information governed by HIPAA. It is, however, sensitive personal information — and we treat it as such, applying heightened protections described throughout this Policy.

1. Quick Summary

This Policy is long because reproductive health data is sensitive and the laws governing it are complex. Here is the short version:

  • We collect information you provide directly (account, assessment responses, lifestyle and reproductive health information), information generated by your use of the Services (Vie Score, Precision insights, AI assistant interactions, engagement data), and — only with your explicit consent — data from connected devices or laboratory partners.
  • We use this information to deliver the Services, operate our business, communicate with you, and — only with your separate, opt-in consent — to support scientific research.
  • We do not sell your personal information or your consumer health data. We do not use your reproductive or fertility data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We do not share your identifiable consumer health data with third parties except as you direct, as necessary to operate the Services under written contractual protections, or as required by law.
  • We do not permit third-party AI providers to use your identifiable information to train their general-purpose models. AI features within the Services apply guardrails, are clearly labeled, and are not a substitute for medical care.
  • You have meaningful rights to access, correct, delete, port, and limit our processing of your information. We honor opt-out preference signals (e.g., Global Privacy Control) where required.
  • We commit to challenging overbroad government or law enforcement requests for reproductive health data and to providing notice to affected users where legally permitted.

2. Who We Are and Scope of This Policy

The data controller of your information is Vie Science, Inc., a Delaware corporation with its principal place of business at Vie Science, Inc.

8 The Green #25042
Dover, DE 19901.
You can contact our Privacy Office at info@vie.science or by mail at the address above, Attn: Privacy Office.

This Policy applies to information we collect through the Site, the Vie Science software platform (including Vie Insight, Vie Optimize, Vie Precision, and the Ask Dr. C AI-powered educational assistant when it becomes available), our mobile-responsive applications, our email and other communications with you, and any offline interactions you have with us. This Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties we do not own or control, including third-party laboratories, wearable device manufacturers, or healthcare providers that you may separately engage.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide Directly:
  • Identifiers and account information: name, email address, date of birth, postal address, phone number, account credentials, and (for Founding Members) billing information processed by our payment processor.
  • Demographic information: age, sex assigned at birth, gender identity (optional), and other demographic information you choose to provide.
  • Reproductive and fertility information: menstrual cycle data, pregnancy and pregnancy-loss history, contraceptive use, time-to-conception, fertility treatment history, sexual and reproductive health history, and partner-related fertility information you choose to provide.
  • Lifestyle and behavioral information: nutrition, sleep, physical activity, alcohol and substance use, stress, exposure to environmental contaminants, and other factors captured in the Vie Optimize assessment.
  • Communications: messages you send to us, including questions and prompts you submit through the Ask Dr. C educational assistant (when available) or other support channels.
  • Survey, feedback, and research responses: information you provide in optional surveys, focus groups, or interviews.
3.2 Information Generated by Your Use of the Services:
  • Vie Score and Optimize activation data: your fertility readiness score (0–100), pillar-level sub-scores, change attribution outputs, and recommended action triggers generated based on your inputs.
  • Vie Precision insights: scores, summaries, flags, and educational explanations generated within Vie Precision based on biomarker and diagnostic information you have authorized us to receive.
  • Ask Dr. C interaction data (when the feature is available): the prompts you send to and the responses generated by the Ask Dr. C AI-powered educational assistant, as well as feedback you provide on responses.
  • Usage information: pages you visit, features you use, time spent, click patterns, and similar engagement data.
  • Device and technical information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and similar technical data.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: as described in Section 9 below.
3.3 Information From Third Parties (Only With Your Consent)

With your explicit, separate consent, we may receive information from the following categories of third parties:
  • Connected wearables and devices (for example, Oura, where authorized): biometric and physiologic data such as heart rate variability, sleep stages, temperature, and activity metrics.
  • Diagnostic and laboratory partners (for example, Fellow Health, Fullwell, OOVA, Virtus Health, or others you authorize): laboratory test results, including reproductive hormone panels, semen analysis, microbiome results, and related diagnostic data — used by Vie Precision to generate insights.
  • Healthcare providers you authorize to share information with us.

We do not access these data sources unless you affirmatively connect them and consent to the specific data flow. You may revoke these connections at any time, although data we have already received and processed may continue to be held subject to this Policy.

3.4 Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. The Services are not intended for minors.
  • We do not collect Social Security numbers, government-issued identification numbers, or financial account numbers beyond what is necessary to process payment.
  • We do not collect precise geolocation data unless you affirmatively enable it for a specific feature.
  • We do not collect biometric identifiers (such as fingerprints, retina scans, or voiceprints) used to identify individuals.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the purposes listed below. For each purpose, we use only the information that is reasonably necessary.

4.1 To Provide the Services
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Generate your Vie Score, pillar sub-scores, and personalized behavioral activation recommendations within Vie Optimize.
  • Generate Vie Precision insights based on biomarker and diagnostic data you authorize us to receive.
  • Deliver educational content, reassessments, and (when available) responses from the Ask Dr. C AI-powered educational assistant.
  • Process payments for Founding Member subscriptions and any add-on services.
  • Communicate with you about your account, security, and service updates.
4.2 To Operate and Improve Our Business
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Conduct internal analytics, troubleshoot technical issues, and improve the Services.
  • Comply with our legal and contractual obligations and enforce our agreements.
4.3 To Communicate With You
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.
  • Send transactional messages (e.g., receipts, password resets, service updates).
  • Send marketing communications, from which you may unsubscribe at any time.
4.4 To Operate AI Features Responsibly

Vie Science uses artificial intelligence within the Services, including (when available) the Ask Dr. C AI-powered educational assistant. With respect to AI features:
  • Third-party AI training restriction. We do not permit third-party AI providers to use your identifiable inputs, prompts, or outputs to train their general-purpose models.
  • Internal product improvement. We may use de-identified, aggregated interaction data to evaluate and improve the safety, accuracy, and quality of Vie Science’s own AI features.
  • Clear AI labeling. AI-generated responses are clearly labeled as AI-generated. Ask Dr. C is an AI-powered educational assistant inspired by the scientific work of Dr. Carmen Messerlian; it is not Dr. Messerlian, is not a human, and does not provide medical advice.
  • Guardrails. AI features apply guardrails designed to prevent the generation of medical advice, diagnoses, prescriptions, dosing instructions, and similar clinical content, and to refer you to your healthcare provider where appropriate.
  • Human review. We may, on a limited and confidential basis, review AI interactions for safety, quality, and compliance purposes.
  • No automated decisions with legal effects. AI features within the Services do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4.5 For Scientific Research (Separate, Opt-In Consent Required)

Vie Science was founded on the principle that the next generation’s health begins before conception. With your separate, voluntary, written consent — captured through a dedicated Research Participation Consent that is independent of your decision to use the Services — we may use de-identified or pseudonymized information about you for scientific research intended to advance reproductive and generational health. Research participation is never required to use the Services. You may withdraw your research consent at any time without losing access to the Services.

4.6 We Do Not Use Your Information For
  • Selling your personal information or your consumer health data to any third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.
  • Cross-context behavioral advertising based on your reproductive, fertility, or other consumer health data.
  • Automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you, without meaningful human review.
  • Training third-party generative AI models on your identifiable data.
  • Disclosing reproductive health information to law enforcement except as compelled by valid legal process, and only after exhausting available challenges.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as described below.

5.1 With Your Direction or Consent

We share information when you direct us to do so — for example, when you choose to download your data and share it with a healthcare provider, or when you authorize a connection with a diagnostic partner.

5.2 With Service Providers and Processors

We engage third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf, including:
  • Cloud infrastructure, hosting, and data storage.
  • Payment processing.
  • Email and customer messaging.
  • Analytics and product engineering tooling.
  • Security, fraud prevention, and identity verification.
  • Customer support and content delivery.
  • AI model providers powering features such as Ask Dr. C, subject to the restrictions described in Section 4.4.
These service providers act only on our written instructions, are contractually required to protect your information consistent with this Policy and applicable law, and are prohibited from using your information for their own purposes, from selling or sharing it, or from combining it with information they receive from other sources except as permitted by law.

5.3 With Diagnostic and Health Partners You Authorize

Where you authorize a connection (for example, to share your laboratory test results with Vie Precision), the partner and Vie Science exchange data under written agreements that include, where applicable, Business Associate Agreements compliant with HIPAA, data processing addenda, and reasonable security commitments.

5.4 For Scientific Research (Only With Separate Consent)

Where you separately consent to research participation, we may share de-identified or pseudonymized data with collaborating researchers, academic institutions, or scientific publications. The specific protections, including data minimization, re-identification prohibitions, and Institutional Review Board oversight where applicable, are described in our Research Participation Consent.

5.5 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any acquirer will be required to honor the commitments in this Policy with respect to your previously collected information, or provide you with notice and a meaningful opportunity to opt out of materially less protective terms before any new use.

5.6 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is required by valid legal process, necessary to protect the safety of any person, or necessary to enforce our Terms of Service. With respect to reproductive health information specifically:
  • We will challenge requests that we reasonably believe are overbroad, unlawful, or seek to use reproductive health data to penalize the seeking, obtaining, or facilitating of lawful reproductive healthcare.
  • We will, where lawfully permitted, provide you with prior notice and a reasonable opportunity to object before disclosing your reproductive health information in response to legal process.
  • We will require valid legal process (a court order, search warrant, or subpoena issued in compliance with applicable law) and will not disclose reproductive health information in response to informal law enforcement inquiries.
  • We will publish an annual transparency report summarizing the number and types of government requests we receive.

6. Legal Bases for Processing (For Individuals in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under the General Data Protection Regulation:
  • Performance of a contract: to provide the Services you have purchased.
  • Consent: for the processing of special categories of data (including health data), for research participation, and for marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests: for operating, securing, and improving the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
The Services are designed primarily for U.S. users. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may not provide the same level of data protection as your country of residence. We rely on appropriate safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, for cross-border transfers.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have rights with respect to your information. The specific rights available depend on your state or country of residence.

7.1 Rights Available to All Users

7.3 How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@vie.science, or submit a request through our rights request portal at https://vie.science/privacy-requests. We will verify your identity before fulfilling a request, typically by confirming control of the email address associated with your account.

We will respond to verifiable rights requests within the timeframes required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with one extension if necessary). If we decline to act on your request, we will explain why and you may appeal that decision by contacting us at the same address with the subject line “Appeal.”

7.4 Opt-Out Preference Signals

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) and other recognized opt-out preference signals as required by applicable law. When we detect such a signal, we will treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and, where applicable, of targeted advertising for the browser or device from which it is sent.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and support de-identified research with your consent. When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within ninety (90) days, except for information we are legally required to retain or that exists in routine backup systems (which is overwritten on regular cycles). De-identified data, including data used in research with your consent, may continue to be retained indefinitely in a form that cannot reasonably be linked back to you.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the Site and Services, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and (where applicable) deliver first-party marketing. We use the following categories:

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls and authentication, logging and monitoring, vendor security reviews, employee training, and an incident response program.

No system is perfectly secure. 11. Children

The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we learn that we have collected information from an individual under 18, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a minor, please contact us at info@vie.science.

12. Reproductive Health Information — Additional Commitments

  • We do not use this information for advertising of any kind.
  • We do not share this information with data brokers.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy on the Site and update the “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes — for example, changes that expand the categories of information we collect, expand our sharing, or change the legal basis for processing — we will provide additional notice (such as email notice or in-product notice) and, where required by law, obtain your consent to the changes before they apply to information previously collected.
